New
shoes are just what the
doctor ordered for our
Publisher's Bagger. And
the crew at Arlen Ness
Enterprises, Inc. has
outdone themselves. The
new Ness Billet Bone Spoke
Wheels are a fresh new
design with a black and
chrome color scheme that
is a traditional, yet
very hip look. The Billet
Bone Wheels are constructed
with the same outstanding
quality that has long
been associated with the
Ness name.
The
wheels are constructed
in a similar fashion as
3-piece automotive wheels.
The chrome Billet Bone
spokes are bolted to a
black powder coated rim
with hardened steel bushings,
chrome 12 point bolts,
chrome flange nuts and
hardened stainless steel
washers. Each bushing
and bolt setup is designed
to withstand up to 6,000
lbs. shear load to insure
that the wheels can stand
up to even the hardest
acceleration and braking.
Since
the wheels were already
off, we decided to upgrade
the braking too. Lyndall
Racing Brakes, LLC (LRB)
is one of the industry
leaders in high performance,
cutting edge brake rotors.
The LRB Apex Performance
Rotor is an amazing piece
of technology. The Apex
rotor surface is CNC machined
from a proprietary metal
composite material that
is fitted to a 6051 aluminum
carrier with 16mm titanium
buttons. The complete
11.5" fully floating
rotor weighs less than
two pounds, and the friction
ring carries a lifetime
warranty as long as LRB
Red-Plus pads are used
and the rotor never goes
metal-to-metal with the
caliper. The Apex Performance
Rotor is also available
in 13" diameter.
